A huge THANK YOU to Maureen Gilbert for spending two days with the TVES students during their P.E. classes last week! Mrs. Gilbert is part of the disability resources and educational services department at the U of I. She also oversees the wheelchair basketball and track athletes. Students learned about the wheelchairs, how the athletes play the game, and were able to try the wheelchairs out for themselves. They learned how to move, turn, stop, shoot, dribble – and had an amazing time! No one wanted class to be over and all asked when they could try this again.
