Homecoming Week kicks off on Monday, September 22nd, with a wide variety of activities at Tri-Valley High School. The event that impacts elementary students, middle school students, and the entire community is the Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally on Thursday, September 25th, at 6:00 pm. Below is some important information for those participating or watching:
If you are dropping off participants, please drop them off at the elementary school and walk. This is for the safety of all. You can NOT drive where we are lining up.
The parade will start from Dooley Park and head north on Lincoln, east on Garfield, south on Cleveland, and east on Washington.
Line-up for the parade will start at 5:30, and the parade will commence at 6:00.
Groups interested in participating in the parade may contact Shari Riley at sriley@tri-valley3.org with any questions.
Entries for the parade will line up in Dooley Park, double-wide or on Lincoln St. behind the marching band and court convertibles heading north.
The parade will end in front of the middle school parking lot. We are asking that for the safety of all involved, ALL parade entries wait until they reach the front MS parking lot to unload or disperse. This is not only for the safety of our participants but also to help with traffic congestion.
The class floats can be left in the big grassy lot (where a house used to be) in front of the high school's main entrance.
Parking is available in the school lots at the unit office, high school, or middle school. We ask that no one park in front of the buildings or on the sides of the roads at the high school, the baseball field, or the road leading to the middle school. Floats and other parade entries will need to be able to get through those narrow roads. Again, this is for the safety of all.
Please be considerate when throwing candy, and please do not throw candy in the high school parking lot. It makes a mess, and there are no kids there to pick up the candy. Candy throwing may be banned if problems continue.
Immediately following the parade is the Battle of the Bands held in the commons of the high school. We will end the evening with a Pep Rally in the gym. If it rains, the parade will be canceled, and the Battle of the Bands and Pep Rally will take place at 6:00 pm.
We hope to see everyone out on Thursday night for an evening of Tri-Valley Viking spirit! And, of course, EVERYONE will be at the game on Friday night to cheer our Vikings on to a VICTORY!!!
GO VIKINGS!
